The congress will be held at Radisson Blue Royal Hotel, Bergen. The hotel is located next to Bryggen, the city’s old wharf area with a row of old wooden buildings lining the historic wharf. Bryggen is a UNESCO World heritage site.
The hotel is a five minute’s walk from the centre of Bergen. The bus from the airport ends at the congress venue.

This hotel is located on the opposite side of the harbor. It is a 15 minutes walk from the venue. An alternative is a short boat trip with the small ferry Beffen.

By plane:
Airport Bus: SAS Flybussen from Flesland airport ends at Radisson Blue Royal Hotel. (the venue) The ride takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the time of the day. Costs: 115 NOK (approx. 15 EURO), passengers 67 years and older: 95 NOK (approx. 9,5 EURO). You may pay with VISA and Mastercard, but no foreign cash. The bus stops near other hotels downtown Bergen, usually 5 to 10 minutes walk.

Taxi from the airport to Radisson Blue hotel costs approx. 400 to 500 NOK.

Airport train: This train ends at the Byparken in the city center, about 11 minutes walk from the venue. The distance take 45 minutes. Tickes are to be bought at tickets macines at the airport, Price NOK 37 per person.

By train:
The distances from Bergen railway station to Radisson Blue hotel is 15 to 20 minutes walk. 


Bank, exchange and currency

ATMs are located outside banks and cash can be withdrawn 24/7. Visa, Mastercard and Diners are the most used credit cards.
The official currency in Norway is Kroner (NOK). The exchange rate is about 9 NOK equals 1 EURO.

Time zone

Bergen is in the Central European Time Zone which is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).


Visitors may require a Visa for traveling to and in Norway. Delegates from states that participate in the Schengen Agreement can travel freely to Norway without Visa.
The Conference secretariat may issue Letters of invitation to participants who have registered for the congress.


The opening hours vary. Most shops are open Monday to Friday 10.00 to 19.00, Saturday 09.00 to 18.00. Most shops are closed on Sunday.


There are many restaurants and cafes in Bergen. Smoking is not allowed in-doors. Service is usually included in prices, but tips are welcome, usually 5 to 10% of the total amount.
